Windows 98 or Windows ME Requirements

Checking on the items that need to be changed or added.
1. Double left click on Network icon
2. Under Configuration Tab, ensure the following items are installed
   Client for Microsoft Networks
   Dial-Up Adapter
   TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter
   (Note all other entries are not required and my be removed, with exception to those who are running a LOCAL AREA NETWORK)
   
3. Close Network (If you have changed any thing the computer will ask you to restart. Just press cancel at this point. We will reboot later)
   If your computer has none of the above you need to follow the "How to install Network dial-up adapter" and How to install TCP/IP protocol" below.
   
   If all the " Checking on the items that need to be changed or added" are OK to continue with the following steps.
   
4. Double left click on Internet Options
5. Single left click on Connections tab
6. Under the Dial-up settings box, single left click on Add…
7. Make New Connection (should display)
8. In the box below "Type a name for the computer you are dialing:" Replace My Connection with Merlin
9. Single left click on Next
10. In the Area code: box, type 02 and in the Telephone number: type 47357699
11. Single left click on Next
12. Single left click on Finish
13. You will now be returned to the Internet screen we started with.
14. Single left click on Merlin (The connection you just created)
15. Single left click on Settings
16. Uncheck "Automatically detect settings" and Uncheck "Use automatic configuration script"
17. Check "Use a proxy server"
18. In the Address type proxy.mis.net.au and in Port type 8800
19. In the Dial-up settings section.
20. In the User name: box inter your username. And in the password box put your password. (DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING IN THE Domain: (optional) box.
21. Now single left click on the General Tab.
22. In the Address: box type http://www.mis.net.au
23. Single left click on the OK button.
24. Close Control Panel
25. Double left click on My Computer Icon on your Desktop
26. Double left click on the Dial-Up Networking
27. Left click once on Merlin icon
28. Right click once on the Merlin icon
29. Go down to properties and single left click on Properties.
30. Under the General Tab Uncheck the Use area code and Dialing Properties box.
31. Under Server Types Tab, under the Advanced options: Uncheck Log on to network
32. Under the Allowed network protocols:
33. Uncheck NetBEUI and Uncheck IPX/SPX Compatible
34. Single left click the OK button
35. Close Dial-Up networking.

How to install Network dial-up adapter
1. Single left click on Start button -> Settings menu -> Control Panel menu
2. Double left click on Add/Remove Programs icon
3. Single left click on Windows Setup tab
4. Double left click on Communications (not check box)
5. Single left click on Dial-up Networking check box
6. Single left click on OK button
7. Insert Windows 98 CD-ROM / diskettes as required.
8. Restart Windows 98

How to install TCP/IP protocol
1. Single left click on Start button -> Settings menu -> Control Panel menu
2. Double left click on Network icon
3. Single left click on Add button
4. Double left click on Protocol
5. Single left click on Microsoft
6. Double left click on TCP/IP
7. Single left click on OK button
8. Insert Windows 98 CD-ROM / Diskettes as required
9. Restart Windows 98
